MALIBU, Calif., Feb. 9, 2009 - Empire Film Group, Inc. CEO Dean Hamilton, has accepted an invitation to the International Cartagena Film Festival. The International Cartagena Film Festival will be holding its 49th edition on February 27 to March 8th. The event takes place in the historic city of Cartagena. This is the oldest film promotion event in all Latin America.

The event has included an Official Competition of Feature Films, Short Films and Colombian cinema. The festival unites some of the most recognized actors in the film industry worldwide. The event has had guests in the past such as Danny Glover, James Caviezel, John Leguizamo, Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Kirk Douglas, Jackie Chang, Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Benjamin Bratt and Catalina Sandino among others. During the festival the organizers host the Producers Event. This a summit of production companies who participate in order to find projects to develop and produce locally.

Empire Film Group has plans to film several projects in Colombia that it has been developing including ``Havana Heat'' and ``The Final Game.'' The projects will be co-produced with Tayrona Entertainment Group and its president James Ordonez. Tayrona Entertainment Group is a full service international entertainment company with operations in Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto, Cartagena, Colombia and other locations worldwide.

Empire Film Group owns or controls a library of more than 170 titles, over half of which are currently in release.
